Shari Gower

Shari Gower is a Certified Health and Wellness Coach and the founder of DefineIt Personal Training and Wellness Studio. She has over 15 years experience in the fitness industry helping individuals change their lives through her personalized fitness, healthy eating and weight management programs. Shari is a Certified Health and Wellness Coach (CHWC), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Cancer Exercise Specialist. She also has a BA in Business and has completed the Mediation and Arbitration Program at Pepperdine University.

Prior to founding DefineIt, Shari worked in the executive world while training herself and others. It was during these years as a corporate top producer, she developed the abitlity to understand executives and the stress of a busy work schedule. Her programs are designed to help reduce stress and gain lifestyle changes through exercise and proper eating habits.

Her experience to respond to clients nutritional needs came from her years with Jenny Craig as a Regional Nutrition Counselor. Shari developed her holistic approach to nutrition and exercise after years of teaching others what their body needs to stay healthy.

Through DefineIt Shari has grown her client list and her success rate with her customized, one-on-one fitness programs. She expanded into a brand new facility in 2012 to better accommodate her growing fitness clientele.


Patty McLucas

Patty is a Certified Personal Trainer, instructing women and men individually and in small groups in strength training and weight control at DefineIt Personal Training Studio. Her wellness advising consultancy is called Breathing Room (www.breathingroomstudio.com). Patty McLucas teaches meditation and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for Stanford’s Cancer Supportive Care Program, Stanford’s Health Improvement Program (HIP), and other Bay Area locations.


Denise Dickinson

Denise is a Certified Personal Trainer for women and men of all fitness levels.  Her upbeat high energy and passion for fitness motivates and inspires others to strive for the same healthy lifestyle.  She offers private fitness training for individuals, couples and small groups.


Marylou Metzger

Whatever your fitness goals are, I can help you get there. My approach starts by asking lots of questions and delving into your fitness goals and motivations. I continuously strive to understand and support your goals. Instead of a rigid program with lots of rules and expectations, I design a training program that incorporates a balanced approach, works with your lifestyle, and most of all, helps you achieve amazing results.


Sandi Wong

Sandi Wong combines 30+ years as a corporate executive and leadership coach with advanced practices in energy medicine to address factors affecting her client’s physical/emotional health, interpersonal/group dynamics, and work/life balance. She also offers energy balancing work for domesticated animals. Sandi has aPh.D. in Cultural Anthropology; MA in Asian Studies, Stanford University, Advanced Certified BodyTalk Practitioner; PaRama BodyTalk Practitioner, Reiki Master/Teacher, TAT Professional & Trainer


Teresa Visini

Teresa Visini uses a variety of methods to enhance people’s alignment, movement, & energy flow. In addition to actively promoting individual well-being and healthy living, she offers energy work for domesticated animals to reduce anxiety, improve sociability and address behavioral issues. Teresa has an MA in Integrative Health; Certified Wellness Coach, Calif. Institute of Integral Studies, BA in Dance, Chapman University, Certified Pilates & Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master/Teacher, Certified BodyTalk Practitioner.


Stella Lorvan

Stella Lorvan has been studying Pilates for over 30 years.
(And boy does saying that make her feel old!)Stella first discovered the Pilates Method as part of her dance training, not knowing what it was she was doing in class, just that it made her stronger. Years later, she rediscovered Pilates after a car accident left her unable to walk without pain. She received her certification from Saint Francis Memorial Hospital’s Center for Sports Medicine, where she did her rehabilitation in 1989 and has been teaching ever since.She has taught Pilates from the perspectives of both health and fitness, having spent her early years in Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Clinics and later in Health Clubs and Private Pilates Studios.

One of Stella’s claims to “fame” is that in 1994, she was the first Pilates Instructor in San Francisco to have a regularly scheduled Mat class at a gym. Today there isn’t a gym in the Bay Area that doesn’t offer at least 1 Mat class. Stella holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Dominican University. She has designed and taught Pilates teacher training programs all over the United States.In 2013, Stella was diagnosed with Cancer. She went through all of the challenges of treatment with as much grace as possible under the circumstances. She has returned to teaching with new eyes and a new understanding of the emotional strength and physical fortitude of the human body…starting with her own.Call Stella, and Get Moving!


Suzette Silberman

Suzette Silberman was born in San Jose and raised in the foothills near Yosemite. Growing up in an environment that is world-renowned for it’s beauty, she developed a love of the outdoors, especially skiing and hiking. She graduated from UC Davis with a degree in International Relations. Suzette came to Pilates to help regain her strength after an illness and fell in love with the way it made her feel. She decided to pursue instructor training in January 2014.

Suzette has completed both the Mat Certification and Apparatus training through Balanced Body University’s Instructor Training Program at the College of San Mateo with Sarah Artha Negara, and is on track to a comprehensive certification. At the same time she is deepening her knowledge of Pilates and movement through an apprenticeship with Stella Lorvan of How To Move.
